FIFI Fashion Week (Fashion Industry Finest Independents), is not just about producing a fashion show with a full Press/Media Pitt, FIFI FW is all about helping you continue to take your creativity to the next level.  

DESIGNERS WANT TO SELL GARMENTS…. In a nutshell, fashion design is a BUSINESS.  Designers make nice garments and have a wonderful time on the runway, but if at the end of the show all they have is a BILL and EXPENSES, how are they making a profit.  Understand, the PRODUCER does not SELL the Designers garments, but should give them the OPPORTUNITY to SELL, the time and space to SELL, the opportunity to meet with the consumers that attend the show.

FIFI FW……  How do we make a difference…. When you do shows, you normally do the runway show, and rarely do you have the time or space to meet with people that may want to purchase your garments.  We took a survey and ask the DESIGNERS what they want from a show.  We want to understand what are they expecting, not just giving them what we think they should have.

DESIGNERS WANT LEADS…. Most Designers are not READY for Buyers, WHY, (mostly) designers should have approximately 3 years of PROVEN profit of their brands, have to be selling somewhere (even if it’s just on-line), have a Manufacturers Agreement along with magazine tear sheets, PR, etc.,  This does not go for every Buyer, but MOST want to see the Brand as profitable.  Buyers do not PAY the Designer to produce the collection, you must have your own financing in place before the Buyer will consider you, or how will you get the garments made?

EVALUATION…. After speaking with many designers and understanding what they expect, we decided to do our show in a 5,000 sq, ALL WHITE, ground floor, bi-level (with elevator), floor to ceiling windows, store front on East 28th Street, in NYC.  After much research, we know Designers need convenience, restaurants and parking, we have all three…. Right next door to the space is a Hyatt Boutique Hotel (has 3 restaurants), directly across the street is Parking and next to that is a Chinese restaurant.  We looked for a location that had most of the things designers asked for.  The space is elegant ALL WHITE, with ample space for designers to sell their garments as well as a runway show.  The lower level will be for general Vendors. 

THE PLAN…. The point is to give designers the OPPORTUNITY to sell their garments.  The FIFI FW BOUTIQUE will be open before and after the show.  You can shop designer brands from 11am – 3pm, we close from 3-4:30, we then let in VIPs and PRESS/MEDIA for the Runway show at 5:30pm.  Once the runway show is finished (6:30pm), people can once again shop designer brands till 7:45pm.  The FIFI FW Boutique closes at 8:00pm sharp. 

THE WORK BEFORE THE SHOW…. We are in the process of securing MANUFACTURERS that do SMALL LOTS to attend the show so Designers can speak directly to them and see if they are a good fit to produce their brands.  We are doing the research so you don’t have to.  The Manufacturers that attend the show will be screened and understand that the Designers are looking for small lot.  This way a designer can set up a desk side appointment with the Manufacturer, see their factory, and make an informed decision if this is someone they want to work with.

DESIGNER REGISTRATION IS OPEN… We only take a few designers, we want quality over quantity.  We want designers that are ready to sell to the public.  This show is set up for Designers looking to grow their brand.  We offer magazine placement in Fashion Avenue News Couture & FIFI Magazine.  We give the designers an edited version of their segment on the runway, we also offer photos…. All this you can use to market your collection.  There is an AFFORDABLE Designer fee to participate.
