Lalique Parfums
Lalique is synonymous with crystal, but the company’s history has always been closely linked to changes in perfumery. In the 1920’s and 30’s René Lalique designed extraordinary bottles for the major fragrance houses such as Roger & Gallet and Houbigant, in collaboration with François Coty. He formed a trend flowing through the creative spirit of Art Nouveau where art and industry joined hands in the service of perfumery. When his granddaughter’s, Marie-Claude, decided to create her own line of perfume in 1992, this initiative was more than justifiable. It was the combination of a genuine perfumery creation and the know-how of crystal glass-making. The crystal is majestic in the design of prestigious limited edition bottles while a refined work of glass also creates more accessible lines of perfume. Lalique Parfums offers a wide range of different men’s and women’s fragrances, including top sellers for men, Encre Noire and Lalique White, as well as top sellers for women, Amethyst, Satine, and L’Amour. Each year, Lalique Parfums launches a new Limited Edition Crystal flacon for Lalique de Lalique in celebration of the creation of this first fragrance launch in 1992. This year, the Limited Edition Crystal is called “Plume” and its bottle design is inspired by the original “Petits Feuilles” perfume bottle created by René Lalique in 1910 as well as the “Geneviève” powder box featuring turtledove couple, who are said to mate for life. Due to the success of the L’Amour Eau de Toilette launched in 2011, Lalique Parfums will also be launching a Limited Edition Crystal for L’Amour this fall. Both Limited Edition Crystals will be available exclusively at Neiman Marcus in November 2014 and will retail for $1,800 for the 100ml Extrait de Parfum. In addition to the new crystal launches, Lalique Parfums will also be adding a new fragrance to the regular female line. Amethyst Éclat, a floral, fruity and radiant fragrance as its name reflects, was created due to the success of the Amethyst line. The bottle design is inspired by the René Lalique’s “Epines” bathroom collection and “Pivoines” large round plate and is adorned with peonies, the symbol of love and beauty, and considered the “Queen of Flowers” in China.

In the XVIIIth Century, France was the flagship of fragrances, with Grasse and Paris as its leading Places. Horses were the pride and glory of Versailles. Perfume came into its own with the court of Louis XV, named “La cour parfumee, renowned for its scent extravagances. Every day, the king requested a different scent for his apartments and streams of aromatic scents sprang from the royal fountains. In 1743, in memory of his great-grandfather Louis XIV, Louis XV commissioned Guillaume Coustou to sculpt his famous masterpiece for the grounds of the Chateau de Marly. This magnificent work of art, known as “The Marly Horses”, earned a place on the Champs Elysees Avenue in the heart of Paris in 1974, where it can still be admired today. Parfums de Marly revives the spirit of lavish receptions and festivities held in the Chateau de Marly, for the delight of members of the Royal Court and foreign dignitaries. Through its original concept, Parfums de Marly rekindles the spirit of fragrances from the splendour of the XVIIIth Century, when the finest perfumes were created for King Louis XV as a tribute of the prestigious horse races he so fervently admired. The Parfums de Marly line consists of 13 men’s/unisex fragrances, available as Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum, including best sellers Pegasus, Herod, and Darley.
